Products and Reactants
Reactants = What you begin with
In a chemical reaction, we have to begin with certain items or ingredients. These are called reactants.
Products = What you end with
In a chemical reaction, we produce a new substance. These are called products.
Example: Baking a cake. The reactants would be flour, sugar, eggs, vanilla, milk, oil, cocoa, and any other ingredient you need. The product would be the cake.
The Arrow = The arrow in the picture means "reacts to form". It is often confused with the equals sign that is commonly found in math equations. But in chemical equations, it does NOT mean equals. It means "reacts to form".
