Formation
Metamorphic rocks form in mountain building areas. They need Heat, Pressure, and Chemical Activity to form.
Metamorphic rocks can be found on top of mountains. This is because they are formed underground and later trust up to the surface.
Metamorphic rocks can turn into sedimentary or igneous rocks.
Types and Traits
There are 2 types of metamorphic rocks. Foliated and Non-foliated.
Foliated – bands of light and dark colors (stripes)
Non-foliated – speckles of crystals
